Traffic Study for Karachi Peshawar Motorway (Hyderabad – Sukkur Section)

Pakistan’s Peshawar-Karachi Expressway (PKM) is an important infrastructure project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The project began in Peshawar which is on the northwestern border of Pakistan and extends from the northwest to the southwest, passing through Lahore, Multan, Sukkur and Hyderabad, ending in Karachi, which is Pakistan’s largest city and also the capital of Sindh Province. The total length is 1,152 kilometers, of which the M-5 highway with a length of 392 kilometers is about to open to traffic.
This traffic study is based on the results of the 2013 PKM traffic survey. It focuses on updating the traffic flow and direction along the road (Hyderabad-Sukkur), and the willingness of road users to pay to provide basic data for analyzing and forecasting traffic demand and making project investment and operation decisions.
