Conventional Pretimed traffic signal has limitation to satisfy dynamic traffic demand. Adaptive traffic control system (ATCS) is a traffic management strategy in which traffic signal timing changes, or adapts, based on actual traffic demand. This is accomplished using an adaptive traffic control system consisting of both hardware and software. Our integrated system with Intelligent Traffic Signal Controller Hardware, Computer Vision based microscopic data collection (via Traffic Genius), and delay optimization algorithm devised complete ATSC system satisfying the real time traffic demand. We have simulated and tested all these components in virtual environment to evaluate the efficiency of system.
